Aerology™ is our proprietary lightweight nylon: a tight, high-tenacity weave with a water-resistant coating on the outside and a durable polyester lining inside. We use it on the exterior of every Fieldwrks pack, and nowhere else.

Most bag fabrics are chosen for how they look and then made to survive. Aerology™ was chosen for how little it weighs and then coated, tested and re-tested until it survived rain, abrasion and being stuffed under an airline seat.

Testing
HOW WE TEST
Three things a city does to a bag, done to every sample before it ships.

Rain
Spray-tested so a monsoon commute stays a commute. Water-resistant, not a dry bag: zips and seams are not sealed.

Abrasion
Rubbed against concrete, cab boots and metro floors. The coating scuffs before it tears.

Load
Straps, handles and the laptop sleeve carry a full pack plus a 15.6" laptop without stretching the pattern.
Care
WIPE, DON'T WASH.
Aerology™ cleans with a damp cloth and mild soap. Air-dry away from direct sun. No machine wash, no dry cleaning, no ironing. Store empty with the straps loosened.
